Update on Health Care Records Provision in Stimulus Bill
Here is a good summary and explanation of how the government will have access to your medical records. These provisions were noted in an earlier post, and were part of the stimulus bill that just passed.

While there should be an opt out & while obviously should be provision to provide help so employers can't blackball at will substandard heath employees THIS COULD HELP DRIVE HEALTH PRICES DOWN by just the economy of information sharing & could be a step to standardizing state filing for insurers further reducing costs.
It might be good, might not. This is why the issue deserves to be its own bill, discussed and debated and understood by all, before it becomes law. By burying it in the stimulus bill, Congress has short circuited the legislative process on this important issue.
